This is such a cute nightstand, although it took me 45 minutes to build. I think that was just my fault for being ADHD though - the instructions were very clear and well diagrammed. All of the panels are that particle wood material with a water resistant, sealed wood-design layered on top.It works great for small spaces and is surprisingly heavy for how small it is. I thought the shelves would hang or have wiggle to them, but they work very smoothly and the drawer catches prevent them from falling out or hanging down even with stuff inside. The surface itself feels durable, scratch resistant and I even used alcohol to get some of the little stickers off without damaging or leaving any marks, which means they should hold up pretty well to spilled bedside water or drinks and such. The legs are a lightweight real solid wood coated in a nice black paint varnish. They angle outward maybe five or 10° but flat on the bottom so only part of the foam pad they included actually touches the ground. On carpet, this is not a problem at all and it’s very sturdy. And on hardwood floors I imagined it could slide around a bit when opening and closing drawers, but the weight of the wood and the foam pads prevents it very well. The brass hardware looks classy and is nicely sanded down on the rough parts. Aside from the 30 minutes it takes to build. This is a fantastic little nightstand if you want something for small spaces that should last a few years.
Table looks good but smells weird and idk how to get the smell out lol
First, once assembled, this nightstand looks pretty much like the listing photo, so no surprises there. Its function and quality is just okay.Stability:The top is stable enough to securely place a small lamp and other objects on top of it as long as the drawers remain closed.Functionality:The drawers function minimally, but there are no rails, so the drawers simply tip down when opened. If somewhat heavy objects are placed towards the front of the drawers, and if both drawers are open, the nightstand can tip over.Because the drawers really cannot be fully opened (as they will just come completely out of the nightstand), all objects placed inside need to be in the front of the drawers.Otherwise, you will not be able to see whats in the drawers. But only very light objects.Quality: The striped design on the drawer fronts is simply the finish scraped off to reveal the MDF below. In many cases, the finish chips away inconsistently, resulting in uneven stripes, which look like the drawer front is chipped overall.I think this will degrade over time. Also, the stickers identifying the parts are very hard to remove and placed in places on the part which is easily viewed once assembly is done.It would be just as easy to place the stickers in placed that end up inside or underneath the nightstand.Assembly:Not too hard, but you need both a phillips and flat head screwdriver. The written instructions are just okay. Can be completed with one person. Some of the lock nuts (silver colored) did not lock (some instability results). The screws are gold colored which was a surprise as they are hidden once the nightstand is constructed. The package is fully flat when delivered, of course.Overall, okay as a seldom used nightstand, perhaps in a guest bedroom, where nothing of any weight will be stored or placed in the drawers.
